Chinese automaker Build Your Dreams(BYD)has received the permission for selling its electric busses in European Union(EU)member states.
The company was given the'Whole Vehicle Type Approval'by the EU,which is expected to support the company's plan to supply green vehicles to the foreign markets.
The approval follows the company's plan to manufacture electric busses in Bulgaria in association with a local partner.
The Bulgarian plant has a capacity to build 40-60 vehicles per month,and is expected to deliver the sample electric busses by February 2013.
The company also plans to start an electric bus manufacturing plant in California by 2013,which expected to start manufacturing of BYD'S K9 electric busses by 2014 with a capacity of 50-100 busses every month.
