Economic Times reported that Steel Authority of India Limited's Bhilai Steel Plant produced 3.98 million tonne of hot metal,3.83 million tonnes of crude steel and 3.32 million tonnes of saleable steel during the nine month period.
While maintaining its production above ABP targets,during April-December 2012 the plant registered growth of 4.1%,5.3%and 5.3%in hot metal,crude steel and saleable steel production respectively,compared to same period last year.
Highlights
1.Best ever production of 1,17,300 tonnes of high tensile plates for home sales as against previous best of 107,300 tonnes in April-December 2008.
2.Best ever loading of 1,09,200 tonne of long rails as against previous best of 99,400 tonne in April-December 2011.
3.Best ever labor productivity of 331.4 tonne/man/year as against previous best of 322.6 in April-December 2010.
4.Iron ore production was 4.1%higher than the previous corresponding period.
